Frequently Asked Questions
Why are pig ears good for puppies and senior dogs?
Pig ears are made from softer cartilage, making them easier to chew than harder bones or antlers. This makes them perfect for puppies with developing teeth (from 4 months) and senior dogs with sensitive teeth or weaker jaws. They provide satisfying chewing without being too hard or challenging.
How do pig ears support joint health?
Pig ears are naturally rich in glucosamine and chondroitin, essential nutrients that support healthy joints, cartilage, and connective tissue. Regular feeding can help maintain joint mobility and flexibility, particularly beneficial for growing puppies developing strong joints and senior dogs with age-related joint concerns.
Are pig ears good for muscle growth?
Yes! With 79% protein, pig ears provide exceptional protein content that supports muscle development and growth. This makes them excellent for growing puppies who need protein for development and active dogs who require protein for muscle maintenance and repair.
How long will a pig ear last?
Chew duration varies by dog size and chewing style. Most dogs enjoy 15-45 minutes of chewing entertainment. The softer cartilage means they are consumed more quickly than harder chews, but still provide satisfying chewing time. Always supervise and remove small pieces to prevent choking.
Can pig ears help with my dog coat and skin?
Absolutely! The natural proteins and fats in pig ears support healthy skin and promote a shiny, lustrous coat. The nutrients help nourish skin from within, reducing dryness and promoting overall coat health. Regular feeding can contribute to improved skin and coat condition.
