Frequently Asked Questions
How much peanut butter can I give my dog?
Peanut butter should be given in moderation due to its high fat content. Small dogs (under 10kg): 1/2 to 1 teaspoon daily. Medium dogs (10-25kg): 1-2 teaspoons daily. Large dogs (25kg+): 2-3 teaspoons daily. Use as an occasional treat or training reward, not as a meal replacement. Always ensure fresh water is available.
Is this peanut butter safe for dogs?
Yes! This peanut butter is made from 98.2% peanuts with a small amount of hydrogenated vegetable oil. It does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. Always check ingredients before feeding any peanut butter to your dog. This formula is specifically suitable for canine consumption.
Can I use peanut butter in treat dispensers and Kongs?
Absolutely! Peanut butter is perfect for filling Kongs, treat dispensers, and lick mats. It provides mental stimulation and keeps dogs entertained for extended periods. You can freeze peanut butter-filled Kongs for an even longer-lasting treat. Great for reducing anxiety and boredom.
How does peanut butter help with muscle health?
Peanut butter contains magnesium, which aids in energy production and muscle function. This can help with difficulty walking and muscle pain, particularly beneficial for senior dogs or active dogs with muscle soreness. The protein content also supports muscle development and repair.
How should I store peanut butter after opening?
Store in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly sealed. Peanut butter does not require refrigeration but can be refrigerated if preferred. Natural separation may occur - simply stir before use. Use within the best before date for optimal freshness and quality.
